Upcoming Events:
April - Relief Printing
Join us in the classroom Saturday, April 1st, from 11am to 2pm. We will be experimenting with two types of printmaking. Lino-cut and Scratchfoam. The tools used for cutting linoleum are rather sharp and better for artists with a little more experience. Scratchfoam Relief Printing is great for all ages! This workshop is free and open to all ages.
Past Events:
March - Inkwash Painting
March 18th – Saturday, 11am-2pm
We will have a drop-in session inspired by the Japanese art of ink painting. Sumi means black ink in Japanese. This workshop will explore painting simple objects or scenes with black ink as a way of becoming familiar with an unfamiliar art form.
Winter Art Factory
Come celebrate the season with us at ZAM on Saturday December 3rd from 11am to 3pm. In conjunction with Downtown Bangor’s Tree Lighting Event and Parade, ZAM and WBRC Architects & Engineers are sponsoring a Family Drop-in Art Making Event. There will be a variety of art and craft making stations for fun, seasonal projects.
Inktober in October
Have you heard of Inktober? It’s where folks challenge themselves to do 31 ink drawings in 31 days and post their drawings on social media using the hashtag #inktober. We will have a drop in studio at the Zillman Art Museum on October 15th from 11am to 2 pm where you can practice your drawing skills with high quality micron pens or try some different nibs with pen and ink drawing. There will be a still life set up in the classroom for folks to draw. Feeling less confident about your drawing skills, try the doodling style Zentangle. We will have square paper and sharpies for doodling. This drop-in event is for all ages but older kids and adults may have more fun! All supplies provided by ZAM.
