Leonard’s Mills Art Day

Leonard’s Mills: Be Creative at the Mill
September 26, 2009

On a beautiful September Saturday families visting the historic Leonard’s Mills in Bradley, Maine had a chance to learn about the traditional medium of woodcuts.

UMMA Education Coordinator Gina Platt offered lessons in the history and creation of the woodcut. Visitors designed and “carved” their own block out of Balsa Foam (much safer for little hands) and then learned how to make a hand-printed greeting card.
