Art Appreciation Day

Bangor Public Library’s Art Appreciation Day
December 28, 2006

BPL Art AppreciationDayArea children, ages five through ten, had the opportunity to learn about the art at the museum during the Bangor Public Library’s Art Appreciation Day. The museum’s Education Coordinator met with the children in BPL’s story room to discuss museums and art in general. The group then proceeded to the museum where children and their parents could view the work on display and discuss different concepts in printmaking, painting, and sculpture. Visitors were given a behind-the-scenes look at art storage and preparation, and a tour of the museum. The day ended with challenging scavenger hunts and gallery activities that provided the chance to review the artwork and study it more closely.
