SUMMARY:Spectacular Saturday Studio Sessions
DESCRIPTION:Have you heard of Inktober? It’s where folks challenge themselves to do 31 ink drawings in 31 days and post their drawings on social media using the hashtag #inktober. We will have a drop in studio at the Zillman Art Museum on October 15th from 11am to 2pm where you can practice your drawing skills with high quality micron pens or try some different nibs with pen and ink drawing. There will be a still life set up in the classroom for folks to draw. This drop-in event is for all ages but older kids and adults may have more fun! All supplies provided by ZAM. \nPlease contact Museum Educator\, Rochelle Lawrence at 207.581.3360 with any questions.

SUMMARY:Pysanka Egg Decorating Workshop with Lesia Sochor
DESCRIPTION:The Pysanka\, a decorated egg\, was common among Slavic people as far back as 5\,000 B.C.\, symbolizing nature’s rebirth. When decorating eggs in the Ukrainian style\, designs are drawn on the egg with melted beeswax\, which flows from a tool called a Kystka. The eggs are then dipped in a series of dyes and the final pattern is revealed when the wax is removed. Instructor Lesia Sochor is an artist of Ukrainian descent. She learned the ancient tradition of decorating Pysanky from her mother and has shared this craft in numerous workshops throughout the state. This workshop is best suited for ages 11 and up. \n\nREGISTER HERE \nAdult Members $25 \nAdult Non-members $30 \nChildren $5 (with attending adult)   \nPlease contact Rochelle Lawrence for more info 207.531.3360
