DESCRIPTION:Students K-12 from the greater Bangor Region have entered work into the Art in the Heart Mall Show on view at the Bangor Mall until the end of March. Of these hundreds of works\, 20 were chosen for their excellence and will be on display in the Museum lobby from April 11th through April 22nd\, 2017. SUMMARY:Summer Art Camp - Session 7
DESCRIPTION:UMMA presents the nineteenth annual Summer Art Camp! A fun\, educational art experience held at the Museum in the heart of downtown Bangor. \nSessions are held in the Museum classroom and galleries. Campers will have the opportunity to view and talk about art and participate in a wide array of hands-on art activities. \nProjects include print making\, drawing\, painting\, and sculpture. Children also enjoy time outdoors to create art in one of Bangor’s beautiful parks adjacent to UMMA. Each week is packed with activities\, gallery games\, scavenger hunts and a Friday reception and art show for family and friends. \nSPACE STILL AVAILABLE – Sign up today!

DESCRIPTION:Please note this event has been CANCELED.  \nCliff Singer\, MD\, Chief of Geriatric Mental Health and Neuropsychiatry at Acadia Hospital and Eastern Maine Medical Center will give an informal noontime talk on the most recent research into Alzheimer’s Disease. The talk will run roughly half an hour with time for questions at the end. This talk is FREE and open to the public. \n  \n

DESCRIPTION:Wear your favorite T-Shirt and Celebrate Summer at UMMA’s \nTEE PARTY in the garden \nCome dressed in your favorite T-shirt (cool design\, message\, graphics\, et.) and compete for a prize! Each interested participant will have a chance to cast one vote for the best T-shirt worn to the event. The person whose T-Shirt gains the most votes will win a prize! Prize awarded at 7pm\, and you must be present to win. \nFork & Spoon will be on site with delicious summer food for purchase along with a cash bar featuring assorted beer\, wine\, and a specialty summer cocktail. There’s also a complimentary beer tasting station throughout the evening\, so bring your professional palate and see if you can tell which brew is which! \nProjections of videos and music from DJ Tanner will provide entertainment for the evening. Dan Dawson will be on site helping to staff a Screen printing Station where you can screen print your own tee! Bring your own shirt to ink up\, or purchase one at the booth (proceeds benefit Educational Programming at UMMA). \nThis is a night at the Museum you won’t want to miss! Socialize\, get creative\, and enjoy a beverage in the garden at UMMA’s Tee Party! This fun event runs in conjunction with Susan Barnett’s “I Wear What I Want” exhibition\, on view at the Museum through September 2nd.

DESCRIPTION:SKETCHBOOK SESSIONS\n(Academic Year 2017/18)\nFridays from 3:30 – 5 PM (some dates not apply)\nin the Classroom of the Museum \nDuring these sessions\, UMMA will provide an inspiring space for you to further your artistic practice working with your sketchbook. Adults and students grades 8 and up are welcome to join. Those under 18 must complete the proper release form agreements in order to attend. \nSketchbook Sessions are FREE but participants are encouraged to bring a sketchbook.
